Parking Map & Instructions

Fire season is still rolling along. Because of that, our Primary Parking area (A) may NOT be available, or my be reduced in size. No matter what happens with parking, we will have shuttles running all day from the area of Aspen Way & Thomas Gallagher Way, stopping at various points inside Skyfair. If you can’t walk long distances, hop on the baggage cart and take a ride!

Handicapped Parking & Drop off will be via MURRAY WAY. Set your GPS for “815 Murray Way” and follow until you are directed by a person.Vehicles must have a valid Handicapped plate or permit to park next to the EL AERO building. If you are just dropping people off, that’s fine. Parking space here is limited.

The MAIN ENTRANCE will be the gate across the street from COSTA VIDA. If all goes well you will be able to exit the parking area to the north, to avoid any traffic jams. If we have to utilize alternate parking (C), you will be directed at the time of entry.

Skyfair does not control the dirt lot (B), therefore we can’t tell you to park, or not park, in that area. 🙂

Pilot Safety Information Briefing

9/19/2026 – 0800 to 1700

Please study the map below. Parachute/Skydiver activity at 0815, 1015, 1400. Helicopter Operating from closed runway 12/30, all day. Tethered Balloon operating from 12/30, early morning. Rotor wing traffic to remain north of 6/24 centerline (except for parachute jumps), Fixed wing traffic to remain south of 6/24 when below 1000′ AGL. Air traffic communicate on CTAF 123.0, and ground traffic on 122.7.

Arriving traffic during Skyfair – Be prepared to use alternate ground routing as shown here. You must contact GROUND CONTROL on 122.7 and make positive contact. If no radio, make visual contact with marshaller before exiting on to ramp.

Exit the runway, or taxiway ALPHA directly onto taxiway BRAVO, left turn. Turn left at B4 on to Runway 30, continue to B3, turn right, then right again onto Bravo. Advise GROUND if you are here for the day or just a quick turn for fuel. FBO will monitor 122.7 and respond to your fuel call. Self Serve is CLOSED during this time. Full Serve fuel is available at the Self Serve price.

Contact GROUND before startup. Follow directions for either Bravo to Alpha, or Bravo to 24.

Skyfair sends a very special welcome to the EAA Chapter 403 for sponsoring a YOUNG EAGLES event during skyfair.

Interested in experiencing the thrill of flight in a single engine aircraft?
The Carson City, NV EAA Chapter 403 is hosting a Young Eagles event as part of Elko Skyfair at the Elko Regional Airport on September 19th.
This event is FREE and is open to kids ages 8-17 years of age. On the day of the event, the kids will get a pre-flight safety briefing and then get to fly in one of a variety of single engine aircraft that are owned by our Young Eagle Pilots. They will also get a Log Book to record their flights, a free membership to the EAA Young Eagles and an access code for free on-line Ground School.  Registration is on-line only and opens on 9/12 @ 8am.
All kids wishing to fly must be pre-registered to attend the Young Eagles event. Here is the link to the online registration:

Helicopter Rides at Skyfair!

Want to try out flying in a helicopter? Come out to Skyfair for $50 ‘Quick trip’ rides (1/10th hour). If you were here last year you know that the line was a mile long, so get in early!

The EL AERO Helicopter is doing more than giving rides during Skyfair. Triple Nickle will be doing parachute jumps throughout the day and might perform a few flight maneuvers that you don’t see on a daily basis from a helicopter. Keep an eye on the sky.

Vendor Map

Vendors, enter from Mountain City to MURRAY WAY, right turn only. Tell the traffic directors that you are a vendor and they’ll direct you to the gate. Once inside the gate, turn left at the first road and find your spot.

Food trucks can drive directly to the parking lot as shown.

Vendor vehicles will be parked along the fence are area 2 after setup.

SkyFair Parking Map

For general parking: From mountain City Highway, turn onto either Terminal Way or Aspen Way, then onto Thomas Gallagher Way and enter at the gate. Personnel will be on site to direct you. If parking is full you can find a spot on the street nearby.

For handicapped or Elderly parking: We have a drop-off area on Murray Way. From Mountain City Highway, turn RIGHT onto Murray Way. After dropping your passengers can exit RIGHT onto Mountain City, or park in the dirt lot as space allows.

If you are walking in to the venue you may enter near the El Aero building.

Northeastern Nevada Museum will be presenting a 30 minute History of Aviation, telling the story of flight from the first aircraft to be seen in Elko to the days of Casino Express.  This program will tell the story of the beginning of the airport and will include some visits by some famous pilots.  You will even hear about the “Flying Sheriff of Elko County”!

This will be a ‘SECOND SATURDAY’ activity.

Come check them out at 11am and 1pm.
